Big new discount store to open
Bargain retailer Discount UK has announced the opening of a new outlet in Kings Lynn which will create 38 new retail jobs for the area.
The large new store will take over the former TJ Hughes site on Broad Street at the Vancouver Quarter, and will be opening at 10am on Friday February 3.
The new Discount UK store will help cost-conscious shoppers beat the recession by offering a ‘value’ alternative to other high street retailers.
The store will offer over 8,000 products with 4,000 of them £1 or less. The vast range includes household essentials, toiletries and groceries, making it ideal for local shoppers looking to cut the cost of their everyday shop.
Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Discount UK, said: “Kings Lynn is a great town and we’re very excited to open our first store here. Discount UK aims to offer the best possible value and so we hope it will prove a big hit with savvy shoppers in Kings Lynn who are seeking better deals and bigger savings to combat the rising cost of everyday living.
“We look forward to welcoming shoppers in Kings Lynn and invite them to take advantage of the deep-cut offers available on everyday essentials such as toothpaste and toasters, as well as specialised products including winter textiles, fashion accessories and toys.”
Discount UK in King’s Lynn is the 28th store to open and marks the brand’s rapid expansion with store numbers expected to nearly double by the end of this year.
