Let’s Talk Shop!
The challenges facing high street retailers are set to be discussed at a series of events taking place this March.
The Let’s Talk Shop events, which are being organised by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk in conjunction with the local Chambers of Trade, the Federation of Small Businesses and the King’s Lynn Town Centre Partnership, will enable retailers to discuss some of the issues and challenges that they are facing, to share with other retailers ideas about what’s working and to work together to identify possible solutions.
There will be a Let’s Talk Shop event in each of West Norfolk’s market towns.

Cllr Nick Daubney, Leader of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, said: “There is no doubt that these are tough times for retailers. There is continued economic uncertainty, a rise in internet shopping and household budgets are being squeezed. If we want our high streets to remain vibrant we need to work together to attract shoppers into our town centres and to ensure that they spend money while they are there.”
“I would urge retailers to book a place at one of the events and to come along and talk shop with us. We all need to undertstand what the issues are and only then can we all work together on initiatives that could really make a difference.”
Each event will begin at 6pm and should last about 1 1/2 hours. Light refreshments will be provided and the events are free to attend.
Retailers wishing to attend one of the Let’s Talk Shop events should register by calling 01553 616251.
