Borough Mayor raises flag for British Armed Forces Day
The borough will show its support for members of the armed forces, raising the British Armed Forces Day Flag next Monday.
Borough Mayor Cllr Geoffrey Wareham will raise the British Armed Forces Day Flag, to mark British Armed Forces Day, at a ceremony in Tower Gardens, King’s Lynn at 10.30 am on Monday 25 June. All members of the public are invited to join him and members of the Royal British Legion and military personnel as they show the borough’s support of and respect for serving members of the armed forces and veterans.
The traditional June exercising of the Freedom of the Borough by personnel from RAF Marham has been postponed until 12 September due to operational duties.
The Mayor said “It is understandable that the Freedom Parade can’t go ahead while there are so many demands on the men and women at RAF Marham but I am delighted that we will have the opportunity during Battle of Britain week in September to show our appreciation and acknowledge the fantastic work that they do”
