BIGGER PICTURE 2 – Mystery is Solved !
The mystery of the “Bigger Picture 2″ was solved on Friday evening!
80 local artists took part in Bigger Picture 2, a mystery painting challenge involving an ‘Old Master’ painting from the Borough Collection depicting one of the signature heritage buildings of Lynn.
Each artist recreated a small section of the picture in acrylic on board without knowing its identity and the mystery was at last solved in the Fermoy Gallery on Friday 28th September.
The ‘Bigger Picture2’ was revealed in its entirety alongside a replica of the original and as part of a splendid exhibition of pictures by the contributing artists, many of which are of the most iconic heritage buildings of Lynn!
The replica was sponsored and beautifully produced courtesy of two specialist King’s Lynn businesses – the fine art reproduction by Michael and Brenda at Snappy Snaps and the exquisite framing by Daniel & Jane Bosworth of Heritage Picture Framing.
Also being revealed at the same time was a brand new calendar featuring 12 heritage buildings of King’s Lynn by selected local artists published by King’s Lynn Arts Centre Trust.
The 12 images for the calendar were chosen from submissions by some contributors to ‘Bigger Picture 2’ by Mark Hill, Patron of the King’s Lynn Arts Centre Trust. The calendar is now on sale at the Arts Centre.
‘Bigger Picture 2’ is not only a testament to the quality of the visual arts in West Norfolk today, but it continues a strong tradition of home-grown Fine Artists spanning over more than 200 years!
The Bigger Picture 2 is open to the public from the 29 September to the 1 December (open 10am – 5pm Tuesday to Saturday)
