Foodbank needs your help
As King’s Lynn residents continue to feel the pinch of the recession, the town’s Foodbank is preparing for a collection day.
The event will be held at Tesco Hardwick Estate between 10am and 4pm this Saturday, 13th October. Shoppers will have a chance to donate non-perishable food such as tinned vegetables, pasta and long-life milk.
Since opening just over a year ago, the Foodbank, set up by local churches, has fed over 1,300 people. Individuals and families referred by support agencies (such as social services and CAB) are provided with short-term food supplies. The food provides relief in a time of crisis such as unemployment or a delay in receiving benefits.
