Local members of Facebook page King’s Lynn Against Welfare Reform were out collecting signatures for their cause in the High Street on Saturday.

It was part of the national event, People Against Welfare Reforms.

“We are asking the people of King’s Lynn to step forward and be counted and show their support and solidarity with people on welfare and CON-DEM-nation at the governments new welfare reforms which will include penalties for having spare rooms, regardless of the need, forcing people to use banks and become PC users and so on.” said Linda Cox on Facebook.

Later she added: “We had some fantastic support from CoR (King’s Lynn), Labour, TUC and GMB, various individuals, and some angry, but lovely ladies who made and brought their own placards. We did extremely well with NINETY-SEVEN signatures! ”
