Beautiful Norfolk Coast inspires artist

Mari at a Private View of the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition

Mari with her work at the Private View of the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition

The wide expanses of the beautiful North Norfolk Coast has inspired professional artist Mari French while creating some of her dramatic and colourful mixed-media paintings.

Mari, who lives in the village of Harpley near King’s Lynn, also derives inspiration from the likes of the ruins of a Cornish tin mine, or the decaying exterior of a Venetian house.

Mari exhibits throughout the UK and her work is held in national and international private collections. Her painting ‘Duality’ was chosen as a finalist in this year’s Sunday Times Watercolour Competition.

Now, a selection of her work will be on display at Greyfriars Art Space in Lynn from 27 September to 11 October. Opening times are Monday – Saturday 10am-4pm with free admission.
