Amazing Hungarian ceramics on display

Forma Hungarica Exhibition

Forma Hungarica Owl

An amazing collection of post-war Hungarian ceramics went on display at the King’s Lynn Art’s Centre this week.

Over 400 hundred objects from the Graham Cooley Collection are spread over no less than four galleries.

We were lucky enough to go along to the launch last week, where Graham gave a fascinating introductory talk about his collection.

From 1945 to 1990 many great artists developed their work behind the Iron Curtain, in isolation from the West, meaning their works have been unseen of up until now.

The event also saw the launch of the brand new Arts Centre Supporters Scheme, which enables people to donate a small amount to the centre on a regular basis.

The Forma Hungarica exhibition continues until Saturday 20th June in the Shakespeare Barn, Fermoy Gallery and Red Barn at the King’s Lynn Arts Centre in King Street. Admission is free.
