It was a case of ‘umbrellas at the ready’ for the large crowd of people who braved the rain to come and support the 10th running of the Grand East Anglian Run on Sunday.

In spite of the downpour, there was a great atmosphere, with Alastair Watson from Nottingham bagging this year’s men’s trophy in a time of of 30mins 53.

Winner of the women’s race was Elizabeth Janes with a time of 35 mins 19 secs.

2,200 runners battled there way through the streets of King’s Lynn, many raising money for various charities.

This year, the Borough Council streamed a live video of the race from the Tuesday Market Place, and this can still be viewed in full by clicking here.

Martyn Benstead @martynbenstead tweeted “So proud of Rosie, didn’t stop once! @GEARKL Rain certainly added to the Fun!! “
