On Monday 29 June 2015 southbound bus services, along with coach services, will return to King’s Lynn bus station joining the existing northbound services and from that date the whole area will become a smoke-free zone.
The buses were originally relocated to Portland Street back in March 2015 to enable the £1.6million refurbishment project to be completed. The project, which has been led and funded by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk with additional funding from Norfolk County Council, has brought about a raft of improvements designed to create a more pleasant environment and a more visually appealing arrival into town for people using public transport.
Work has included the resurfacing of the bus station area, widening of paving areas, the installation of a feature canopy to provide more shelter and a new layout to improve the capacity within the bus station.
Real-time travel information and visitor information will help people plan their journeys and help them find what they want to visit in town.
