The King’s Lynn Classic Car Day is set to make a welcome return to the Tuesday Market Place this September after a successful inaugural year.

Last year the event attracted over 200 exhibitors and saw iconic vehicles like a Model T Ford, e-type Jaguar and Ford Mustang on display alongside the Cooper Car – the only surviving example of six cars made at the Cooper factory in King’s Lynn in the early 1900s, and this year is set to be an absolute must for motor enthusiasts.

Once again King’s Lynn Classic Car Day coincides with Heritage Open Day, so people will have a chance to explore the display of vehicles and take a look inside some of the town’s heritage buildings not usually open to the public, including the air raid shelter beneath Tuesday Market Place.

The silver-grey 1968 Daimler V8 250, was restored by the previous owner in 2005 and has a 2548 cc V8 engine coupled to a Borg Warner three-speed automatic gearbox.

Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, Cabinet Member for Culture, Heritage and Health, said: “Events like this help to showcase our magnificent town. I am really looking forward to this year.”

“We opened registration last week and we’ve already had a great response, with over 100 people registering to show their vehicles.”

To register to show your vehicle at this year’s event or for more information please visit west-norfolk.gov.uk/classiccarday. Only pre-booked exhibitors will be permitted.

The King’s Lynn Classic Car Day takes place on Sunday 13 September on the Tuesday Market Place.
