The King’s Lynn Film Festival promises to offer “something for everyone.”

The new festival is due to be launched on Friday 2nd October, and will take place in various venues across town across the whole weekend.

The programme is based around the theme of food, recalling the important role that King’s Lynn has played both as a fishing port and an important centre for agriculture over the centuries.

The gala launch will recreate a trip to the cinema 100 years ago, screenings of world cinema classics, popular animation “Ratatouille” and a young persons’ film-making workshop.

The organisers aim is to give the people of West Norfolk a chance to embrace film as an art form and to enjoy a wider range of cinematic offerings.

“This might be our first film festival, but we hope with your support it won’t be the last. We would love to establish the film festival to add to the other offerings on the local calendar, enhancing the reputation of King’s Lynn as ‘the Festival Town’.”
