A new charity video, produced by Lynn music teacher Lee Bigland, could be set to go viral on the Internet.

Lee, who teaches at the West Norfolk Academy of Music, gathered together 40 musicians over the weekend to produce a cover version of Toto’s “Africa”, which it is hoped will raise lots of money for local mental health charity West Norfolk MIND.

The single was recorded at Sickroom Studios in Pentney, and the music video should be going live on YouTube within the next two weeks.

“To get 40 people to get involved and help on a weekend was truly amazing.” said Lee

“A lot of people suffer from depression or anxiety but mental health has a dark stigma behind it, and people don’t really want to talk about it.

“People need to know that West Norfolk Mind really does help. There are some great people down there. I’ve spoken to a people who have really benefited from the service. I’m so glad we have something like that around here to help.”

In August Lee will be climbing up Mount kilimanjaro over an 11 day period to help raise yet more money for West Norfolk MIND.

“I cant wait to get to the top, it will be so worth it. I’m trying to get fit enough to do it although I’m really a rugby player.”
