Opportunity for young singers in West Norfolk

Members of West Norfolk Youth Choir.

Tenors Unlimited will be performing at the Corn Exchange.

Young singers are being invited to join West Norfolk Youth Choir in supporting a performance by classical crossover group Tenors Unlimited in King’s Lynn. The choir will be providing backing vocals for some of the Tenors’ songs, as well as performing something from its own repertoire.

The Youth Choir is part of West Norfolk Music Centre, and it rehearses on Saturday mornings at Springwood High School. The Music Centre has, since its formation in 1979, sought to provide chances for local people to take part in group music-making. Singing has always been part of this, and the Centre is now looking for new members to expand its Youth Choir.

Derek Stringer, Chairman of West Norfolk Music Centre, said, “We are delighted to have been given this opportunity to perform alongside professional musicians. The concert will provide a real boost for the children who sing in our Choir, and we would welcome new members to take part in this and future events.”

The performance is on Saturday 14 May.

West Norfolk Music Centre is a registered charity which provides music education for students of all ages, both children and adults, through individual lessons and music groups. The choir is open to all children aged 7–14 in the West Norfolk area, and is led by Zoe Lawrence.
