Shoppers in King’s Lynn will be brought some extra extra festive cheer this Saturday (10 December), by West Norfolk Youth Choir. The choir will be performing a range of songs, including some Christmas favourites, at Marks and Spencer, King’s Lynn, from 10.30am to 11.30am.
There is no charge to shoppers, who can drop in for as much of the performance as they wish. There will be a collection, and any funds raised will be shared between the East Anglian Air Ambulance and West Norfolk Music Centre, both of which are charities whose work benefits local people.
The Youth Choir is part of West Norfolk Music Centre, and it rehearses on Saturday mornings at Springwood High School. The choir is open to all children and young people between 7 and 14 years of age, and new members are always welcome.
Members of the choir will also join with ensemble musicians from the Music Centre on Sunday 18 December in the foyer of Tesco Hardwick, King’s Lynn.
Derek Stringer, Chairman of West Norfolk Music Centre, said, “We are always very pleased to be invited to perform in public and to support other charitable causes where we can. Our young singers are gaining confidence and the choir continues to grow.”
