New “Mini Meet” in the Market Place

With just three months to go ’til the council’s newest summer event – Mini Meet in the Market Place – event organisers are encouraging owners of these much-loved motors to register for the event.

Cllr Brian Long, Leader of the Council, said “People hold these iconic cars in their hearts with such fondness I thought it would be great to fill the Tuesday Market Place with them. It gives owners a rare opportunity to show off their pride and joy in a town centre location. Any make or model of Mini – new or old welcome. We want to create a real spectacle for people to come and see.”

The event takes place from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, 27 August 2017.

Live music, entertainment and trade stalls will make this a great family day out for all Mini owners and enthusiasts.

Cllr Brian Long, added, said: “This event builds on the success of our classic car show, which has become a real feature of our events programme. The Mini holds a special place in British pop culture; from starring in The Italian Job in the swinging Sixties to its reinvention as a modern classic today. So if you own a Mini, come and show it off! We’ll be awarding prizes for the Judges’ Choice and the People’s Favourite.”

Anyone wishing to show off their Mini should register online at www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/minimeet
