Baden Powell – last trips this year

On Saturday 14 October, King’s Lynn historic boat Baden Powell will be taking passengers on river trips for the last time this year.

The afternoon high tide on Saturday is 2.49pm, so the first trip will be at 1pm, and there will be other departures at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

But only if the weather is reasonable. Baden Powell is an open boat, so no fun in heavy rain or strong winds – as any fisherman will tell you.

The trips will start from the pontoons on the quayside. Eight passengers can be taken on each trip. There is no charge, but each passenger is asked to make a suggested donation to the King’s Lynn Worfolk Boat Trust of £10. And if they enjoy the experience they can leave tips in the bucket afterwards to help pay for the sails when they are fitted early next year.

Seats can be booked by phoning 07934 562909, or through Twitter or Facebook using ‘floatourboat17’.

Passengers will get a new perspective on the town’s waterfront before the full sailing programme begins in Spring next year.
