The Blueberries are looking fantastic! The mild winter and the warm and sunny weather this year provided the perfect conditions for them leading to an earlier harvest. Fairgreen Farms is now open again for Pick Your Own, open Mon - Sat, closed on Sundays. The harvest is expected to last throughout the whole of July and August. The price is the same as last year - £5 per kg. They also produce Norfolk Blueberry Wine on the farm, which they now sell on the field at £10 per bottle, alternatively, the wine is also for sale at The Gate Pub in Middleton. They look forward to welcoming you on the farm, why not take a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors, children are welcome under adult supervision. Toilet facilities are available. The Gaywood River that flows through the Walks is one of only 200 Chalk Rivers in the world. Why not go and help to clean up the Gaywood River with the Norfolk Rivers Trust at the Walks and make a real difference to your local wildlife and environment. Meet by the Walks office at 10am, please take your own lunch, drinks and sensible clothes and footwear (wellies if possible), gloves and equipment will be provided. They aim to finish by 3pm but if you can spare just one hour it could make a huge difference to the health of the river. No need to book just turn up.
