The King’s Lynn & District Round Table No. 54 was founded in 1933 and is part of a world-wide organisation and one of two Tables in the town. Round Table all started in Norwich.
All Tables are involved in fund-raising for local charities and in providing support to the local community, but also building a network of like minded men aged between 18 and 44.
Table is also a very social club, they don’t spend all their time fund raising, but also going out to new and different venues to try new experiences. A few examples so far this year alone have been Archery, Pub Quiz, Scalextric racing, Paranormal Investigation at Castle Rising Castle and a Wine, Beer and Cider tasting. Even more social events have been planned for the year.
Round Tables motto is Adopt, Adapt and Improve which they are constantly with the help of their members. They have moulded RT54 into a dynamic social group. At the close of the last year RT54 had donated more than £9000 to local groups and charities including The Scouts, a new football strip for West Winch Juniors FC, £2600 for the brilliant Lavender Hill Mob, £2600 for KIWIS, £100 for Tapping House, £250 for MENCAP, £1000 for Red Wellies, £250 for RNLI and £200 for King’s Lynn Guide Dogs.
As a Table they are always looking for new members. Why not go along and have a look. It will cost you nothing for the first two visits, and you will get watered and fed as well. Have a look at their website www.rt54.org.uk and their FaceBook page www.facebook.com/roundtable54.
King’s Lynn Round Table meets every other Monday, so if you aged between 18 and 44 and want to give back to the community whilst making new friends and having fun, why not pop along to their next event.
